First production line for plant milk in Russia started in Chelyabinsk

Soyuzpishcheprom launched in Chelyabinsk the first production line in Russia producing plant milk with rice, soy, oats and wheat as base raw material. Later almond and coconut milk should be produced as well. The company explains the investment with the move to follow the health&wellness trend in the food industry and with a significant price advantage compared with imported analogs. The plant milk will be offered not only as finished product but also used for producing yoghurts and milk-based drinks.

The installed equipment (made in Italy) runs fully automated with two packaging lines for tetra pak and plastic bottle. The output capacity is 100 tons per day (35,000 tons per year). The company plans to deliver beyond Chelyabinsk to Yekaterinburg, Tyumen, Ufa, Moscow, St. Petersburg and potentially to other CIS countries.

The investment amounts to 860 million rubles ($15 million), with a calculated payback period of 2.5 years. The sales is expected with 1.9 billion rubles ($33 million) per year.
