The airport Koltsovo announced the passenger numbers from the last 4-days public holiday weekend, starting with Women’s Day on March 8 and lasting to Sunday 11, 2018. The airport served about 62 thousand passengers, which is 34% more than a year ago.
On the domestic list, the traditional leaders are Moscow and St. Petersburg. At the same time, there is a significant growth in number of passengers heading to South Russia – Sochi, Rostov and Krasnodar. In these directions the passenger traffic has tripled and in total catches up with the volume of St. Petersburg.
On the international list, the most dynamics showed the destinations being convenient for a short holiday: the number of passengers heading to Turkey (Istanbul and Antalya) increased by 400% compared with 2017, UAE (Dubai and Sharjah) and Czech Republic (Prague and Pardubice) by 200% each.
The increase of passenger traffic during the New Year holidays 2018 was 23% above the prior year.
