Forbes has published 2018 global rating of the world’s richest people.
This year, chairman of the NLMK Group board Vladimir Lisin tops the list for Russia with 102 billionaires. Lisin’s fortune is estimated at $19.1 billion. He ranks the number 57 on the global list.
Last year’s leader was Leonid Mikhelson, the chairman of the board and shareholder of the Novatek oil and gas company; now he is ranked third with his $18 billion, while the second place is given to Severstal director general, businessman Alexei Mordashov, who owns almost 80% of the shares of the metallurgical company.
The richest billionaire from Ural Region is the former owner of Uralkali, Dmitry Rybolovlev with $6.8 bln, followed by shareholder of UMCC Andrei Kozitsin with $5 bln, Sergei Popov with $4.5 bln and the shareholder of Russian Copper Company Igor Altushkin with $3.5 bln.
