Sverdlovsk governor Evgeny Kuyvashev and Director General of Uralkhimmash (manufacturer of equipment for gas and petroleum processing), Oleg Chernov, held a talk about the cooperation with Japanese partners.
According to Oleg Chernov, Uralkhimmash laid the groundwork for the cooperation through the Russian trade mission in Tokyo in 2017.
In January 2018 meetings were held with potential partners from Japan such as Sojitz, Chiyoda and some others resulting in the agreements to conduct technical audits in the Uralkhim plant.
Uralkhimmash sees the potential to become a supplier of the equipment for the large oil & gas projects such as Sakhalin-2 and Arctic LNG-2 as a partner of Japanese companies involved there.
In view of governor the prospective of cooperation with Japanese companies is an important positive step not for the company only but for the Sverdlovsk region.
He said the region works hard to attract new investments. Last year, Japan was partner of the Innoprom international industrial exhibition in Yekaterinburg. This year has been declared the Russia-Japan year. Thus, the plans to set up the direct links with Japanese companies become especially important.
