The agency Zoom Market conducted a survey with the main question: “How safe do you feel in the city?”
2,900 people from 29 Russian cities aged 19 to 54 provided their assessments.
As the safest city the participants named Yekaterinburg. Moscow and Kazan were ranked number two and three respectively. As the most dangerous place was recognized the city of Tyumen.
The mayor of Yekaterinburg, Yevgeny Roizman, commented the results: ”The fight against drugs has done a lot here, because today drugs and alcoholism are the main cause of street crime. Secondly, we have a very strong police chief. Of course, the high living standard in Yekaterinburg plays also a role.”
